I am currently an Associate Professor at the Resource, Environment and Development Department of the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. I obtained my PhD in Environmental Management and Development from the Australian National University in 2010, and I hold a Master’s degree in Economics from York University in Toronto, Canada. Before joining the Crawford School in 2023, I served as an Assistant Professor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore from 2015 to 2022. Additionally, I have worked as a Scientist at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) from 2014 to 2015, and as a Senior Researcher at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research-UFZ in Leipzig, Germany, from 2011 to 2013. My research is centered on the intersection of agriculture, environment, and development within the Asia-Pacific region. I have conducted extensive studies on agricultural and food policy, natural disasters, and women's empowerment in South and Southeast Asia. My work particularly focuses on how climate change disproportionately affects various social groups, especially women.
